About US

Built On Fieldwork, Not a Warehouse

Eden Externals is based at 10 Swann Ln, Carlisle, and grew out of hands-on landscaping and garden maintenance work across Cumbria. Long before we sold a single product, our team was out in customers' gardens — raking, clearing, cutting back — and forming firm opinions about which tools survive a full season and which end up in the shed unused after a fortnight.

Where We Started

That experience is the reason Eden Externals exists as a store. Rather than list every tool on the market, we stock a focused range across four categories — garden rakes, leaf blowers, garden power tools and shears — chosen because they held up to real Cumbrian gardens: heavy ground, wet fallen leaves, and hedges that need cutting back hard more than once a year. Every product description on this site is written from that working experience, not lifted from a manufacturer's spec sheet.

Our Approach

We treat tool selection the way we'd treat hiring a subcontractor: reputation and past performance matter more than a glossy listing. A blower that's loud, heavy or short on battery life gets left off the site regardless of price, because we know from experience it will end up disappointing the person who buys it — and that reflects on us. The same goes for shears that dull within a season or rakes with tines that splay under normal use.

Our Team

Eden Externals is run by a small, UK-based team who split time between the storefront, online support, and — for several of us — ongoing landscaping and grounds-maintenance work in and around Carlisle. That dual role keeps the product range grounded in current, real-world use rather than a one-off testing phase years in the past.

Community & Local Roots

As a Carlisle-based business, we source and ship from our own premises, employ locally, and try to give straightforward, honest advice to anyone who calls or emails asking whether a particular tool is right for their garden — even if the honest answer is that a cheaper option in our range would suit them better.

Our Promise

If something we sell doesn't perform the way we've described it, we want to know. Feedback from customers directly shapes which products stay in the range, which get replaced, and which descriptions get rewritten to be more accurate. That's a slower way to build a catalogue than simply listing whatever a supplier offers, but it's the only way we're willing to do it.
